Introduction

We are going to start our study of STOP MOTION ANIMATION with a simple straight forward project just to get you familiar with the stop motion animation process and equipment.

In this project you are going to create a short animation using your name. You will then be able to reuse this in all your projects in the credits section.

Directions

  1. Cut out your name using construction paper
  2. Form a small group 2-3 people
  3. Select a computer and create a folder for your project
  4. Launch Premiere Elements and save the project into the folder you just setup
  5. Take turns running the computer and animating the letters
  6. When you finish each name sequence, save it as an .avi movie file into your project folder.
  7. Copy your finished movie to the Shared Folder on the server as follows:

My Computer -> Student (K:) -> Specialists ->Tech -> Fourth -> NameVideos -> {Your Teacher's Name}

Expectations

one Use the floor or countertop as your background
two All the letters of your name must enter the screen and exit the screen
three In the middle of the animation, your name should be centered in the screen for at least 12 frame grabs. It can be moving or still
four Then can come from the top, bottom or right sides but not from the left side
five Your project should include at least 120 number of frame grabs
